Lovely friendly staff. Location. Car parking. Good breakfast choice.

Evening menu in restaurant limited and what was on offer exceeded the chefs ability to cook it properly. Drinks prices very, how shall I put it, "imaginative". To a great extent this hotel is carried on the personalities of the reception and waiting staff. In spite of its shortcomings we would use this hotel again, if we wished to stay in this area. But would seriously consider "dining out" weather permitting.

The view from the room and the bathroom.

Unfortunately, we did not like our stay at the Quayside Hotel. It was not of a standard we expected from a 3 star hotel.

The bedroom was very comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly and willing to help. The view from the window was beautiful and the hotel was very convenient for the harbour and for the ferries etc. The lounge is very comfortable and the bar well stocked.

The food was expensive but on the whole was good. The portion sizes are small and for the price do not give good value for money. Our starter on the first night was so small we needed binoculars to see it, and if we came down to breakfast 45 mins before they stopped serving, they had run out of white toast, 2 days running! The hotel expresses itself as a gourmet hotel and is nearly there but not quite.

Staff very friendly.Arrived early and no problem with bookingin.Car park 2 mins walk up the road and large and secure. Food in the restaurant exellent quality. Views from the sea view rooms is stunning. Overall exellent.

The staff are superb - friendly, informative, helpful and anticipatory. Nothing is too much trouble. In addition, although the breakfasts are fine, if nothing special, the dinners are outstanding. The chef is wonderful and the presentation, service,, value and, above all, taste, make this a truly marvellous place to dine. But from the general nature of the hotel, although delightful, you would not necessarily guess that dining would be a gourmet experience. The hotel needs to address their best-kept secret in that respect!!! I would recommend whole- heartedly.

It is what it is - a charming little seaside hotel, complete with rambling stairs, old floral carpets, a bit of a time warp. Fire doors are very heavy, too much so for an elderly couple we saw struggling with the stairs and doors, and the live music on the bar under our room didn't finish till 11.30pm. Didn't worry us, any of it, but some might be put off.

When we go to Brixham again we will be happy to stay at the Quaside Hotel, the food was excellent. The only downside for us was the bed was on the soft side we are used to sleeping on a firm one.

The accommodation was good but the breakfast very disappointing. The content of the menu was good but the reality of the "Full English Breakfast" was not. The food was badly cooked e.g. the mushrooms looked like and tasted of very wet black socks (microwaved?), the egg was hard fried and the sausage undercooked. Unless you had the full breakfast (which we didn't after the first morning!) the portions were extremely parsimonious. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Staff very polite and courteous. Meals excellent and location/views ideal. Would highly recommend.

Good position on the harbour. Not a lot to do at night as most places closed at 5pm.

We found the room to be quite small. But it had a great shower.

Superb views across the harbour & out across the bay to Torquay.Easy reach of local amenities. In house bar serving local ales & home cooked meals.

Stairs are narrow and steep (no lift)

friendly ,welcoming staff, very helpfull. relaxing ambeiance in the hotel and in the attached bar. we had a lovely view of the harbour from our window.

although the view was lovely, the room was so small that there was only room for one chair. more of a single room than a double. the positioning of the tea/coffee making was very akward, had to kneel on the floor to make a drink, then you were in front of the bathroom door that opened outwards, plug socket behind the tv or on skerting close to floor, flex not long enough on kettle to reach the plug socket behind tv. Bathroom positioned under the stairs to next floor. hardly luxury!. ok for two nights, but I would not like to spend any longer in such cramped conditions. Resturant to expensive, for what it offered.we went out for evening meal.
